They’re easy to make, but it turns out that liqueurs that are neon blue and green also are cloyingly sweet — and not necessarily in a good way.
If sweet is what you’re after, then we’ve got recipes from South Sound barkeeps for you.
Of course, you could just go with the traditional Super Bowl beverage of choice: beer. Just add blue or green food color.

Seahawks fans have been flying their 12th man pride in cocktail form. Do a search of Pinterest and you’ll find layered blue and green Jell-O shots and vodka steeped with Skittles to achieve those dayglo Hawks colors.
The Jell-O is easy to make — just make lime Jell-O, swapping one cup vodka for the cold water. Pour into small, clear plastic cups. Let set up in the fridge. Then, repeat with blue Jell-O. Beware, the shots pack a potent punch. They’re better for tailgaters who don’t have to drive anywhere.
For that brightly colored vodka, steep a handful of blue or green Skittles — the colors in the Tropical Skittles packages work best — in vodka, and shake vigorously. Use as you would in any cocktail.
