Work should begin soon on Tacoma’s Chick-fil-A, planned for 3902 Steele St., just south of the Ashley Furniture store.
The fast-food restaurant’s plans to build near the Tacoma Mall became public this summer, when it asked the City of Tacoma for some exceptions to the rules on drive-thrus. Those were approved, and company officials had said work would begin in August.
The city issued the building permit on Friday. Company officials said Monday that the store was on track for opening in the spring.
