Seven flights scheduled to fly from Sea-Tac Airport to East Coast destinations were canceled Tuesday morning as a major blizzard threatened that area.
Five flights from Sea-Tac to New York-area airports were canceled because of the weather, and a single flight to Boston and another destined for Philadelphia were erased from Tuesday morning’s schedule.
Those flights were among 4,600 canceled nationwide because of a winter storm that threatened to dump several feet of snow on the area from Washington, D.C. to Maine. That storm was less severe than predicted in Washington, Philadelphia and New York, but it did sock New England with a substantial punch.
As the storm passed major East Coast cities, flights resumed from the West Coast. The last East Coast non-stop canceled from Sea-Tac to the East Tuesday was a Delta flight at 11:15 a.m. to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport.
