Bellingham-based Haggen Food & Pharmacy has announced a tentative schedule for the acquisition and conversion of former Albertsons and Safeway stores to the Haggen brand.
The company said in a release Wednesday that it would begin the conversion at a property in Monroe, and that 146 stores would be converted in the first half of 2015.
Among South Sound Albertsons and Safeway stores to be rebranded, March will see changes in Gig Harbor at 4831 Point Fosdick Drive N.W. (Safeway); in Puyallup at 11102 Canyon Road E. (Albertsons); in Olympia at 3520 Pacific Ave. (Albertsons); in Lakewood at 8611 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W. (Albertsons); in Tacoma at 111 S. 38th St. (Albertsons) and at 15805 Pacific Ave. S. (Safeway).
June will see conversions in Milton at 2800 Milton Way (Albertsons) and in Federal Way at 31009 Pacific Highway S. (Albertsons).
The time to convert each store will vary, the company said.
