The Portland hotel company that owns and operates Tacoma’s Hotel Murano has added another hotel property to its portfolio.
Provenance Hotels in partnership with Portland’s NBP Capital announced Tuesday it has acquired the historic, 151-room Roosevelt Hotel. That hotel at Seventh Avenue and Pine Street will become the fourth Seattle hotel owned by Provenance.
The boutique hotel chain already owns and operates Seattle’s Hotel Max and Hotel 1000. It also owns the Paramount Hotel in the Emerald City.
Provenance said it plans to update the Roosevelt and add a new restaurant to the hotel’s ground floor. The Roosevelt was formerly operated by Coast Hotels.
The Portland hotel company has been on an expansion program recently. Earlier this month, Provenance and NBP announced the purchase of Portland’s historic Woodlark and Cornelius buildings. Those buildings will be converted into a 150-room hotel. Provenance also is expected to open its first hotel in New Orleans, the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery, later this spring.
