MultiCare Health System launched a Community Partnership Fund this week to provide financial support for nonprofits in King, Pierce, Thurston and Kitsap counties.
The $500,000 fund will offer single or multi-year grants to registered 501(c)3 organizations or projects that serve a broad range of community members; addresses an important community need; provides a significant and measurable impact, and aligns with MultiCare’s mission of “partnering for a healing and healthy future.”
“There is so much more to a healthy community than health care,” said Bill Robertson, MultiCare president and CEO, in a news release. “MultiCare has a long history of building close partnerships in the community to improve the lives of all those we serve. This Community Partnership Fund is an exciting next step in that work.”
The first grants will be awarded this summer, spokeswoman Marce Edwards said in an email. The decision committee is made up of MultiCare leaders, providers and staff members representing a diverse geography. Grant requests will be reviewed several times a year.
