Seldens, a Tacoma furniture purveyor since 1940, has purchased the retail furniture and interior design business of the upscale Masins of Bellevue.
In a statement this week, Bob Masin, CEO of Masins Furniture Co., said, “While Masins’ wonderful 88 year legacy in the furniture and design industry is coming to an end, we are excited for the growth and new opportunities that will surely be accomplished under Seldens ownership.”
He continued, “The relationships we have cultivated with our high-end vendors will be extended to the Seldens group to expand their current merchandise offerings.”
When the deal is finalized later this year, David Masin, president of the Bellevue company, will remain with the new enterprise and will manage the 25,000-square-foot Bellevue store. Masins will continue to deliver and service orders written through June 30, and will retain responsibility for custom orders through the fall.
Seldens, recently featured in a News Tribune story, is celebrating its 75th year. The company is fourth-generation, family owned and headquartered in Fife.
Financial details of the purchase were not released.
