The city of Tacoma is seeking two applicants to fill slots on the Board of Building Appeals.
The board comprises seven members who have been recommended by the city’s Infrastructure, Planning and Sustainability Committee and subsequently appointed by the City Council.
According to a city release, board members:
• Review and provide recommendations for approval for new editions, amendments and proposed changes to the city’s building, mechanical, fire, dangerous building, minimum housing and energy codes.
• Hold hearings and make decisions on appeals or orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official or fire chief related to the application and interpretation of building, mechanical, plumbing, fire and energy codes.
• Hear appeals of orders or decisions made by the hearing officer related to dangerous building or minimum housing codes.
