State offering workshop in Tumwater on nonprofit vision, mission statements

Is the mission of your nonprofit well crafted? Is the vision coherent?

The Secretary of State’s Charity and Nonprofit Education Program will offer an interactive workshop in Tumwater that aims to help organizations create mission and vision statements.

The workshop will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Department of Labor & Industries Headquarters, 7273 Linderson Way SW. The workshop is free to attend, and lunch will be available for $10.

“We hope organizations take advantage of this workshop so they can learn more about crafting vision and mission statements that will help these organizations grow by sharing their mission with more passion,” said Teresa Glidden, education coordinator for the Corporations and Charities Division, in a news release.

“We’d like to see organizations send more than one person so they can join forces and come up with compelling statements to use in sharing their vision and mission with their community,” Glidden said.

Liz Davis, co-founder and CEO of Northwest Venture Philanthropy, will serve as the workshop’s main trainer.
