South Sound Business People

▪ Wayne Norman has recently been named business lending vice president for Harborstone Credit Union in Tacoma. He will work with local businesses, identifying their banking needs and helping them with customized services and will be based at Harborstone’s Kent Station branch. Norman received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and has more than 30 years of lending and financial services.

▪ Kevin Turner has been appointed to lead a new global client strategy and research team for Russell Investments. A 21-year employee with Russell, most recently he served as the head of consulting for the firm’s institutional business in North America. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance plus a degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of Auckland.

▪ Dr. Kenneth Edstrom has been awarded the Outstanding Preceptor Award from the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, on behalf of the class of 2016. The annual honor is awarded to adjunct clinical faculty or preceptors who have been deemed to significantly affect the professional development of third- and fourth-year osteopathic medicine students.

▪ Dr. Nathan Schlicher, associate director for TeamHealth’s National Patient Safety Organization, was recently named president of the Washington Chapter, American College of Emergency Physicians. He practices clinically in the CHI Franciscan Health System, primarily out of St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma. He has previously served on the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association board of directors as the legislative director and serves as the assistant secretary-treasurer with the Washington State Medical Association.

Dr. Pat Solari was selected as president elect, Dr. Liam Yore as secretary/treasurer, and Drs. Jamie Delcampo, Raul Garcia, Jamie Jenkins and Gregg Miller were elected to the board. Dr. Cameron Buck was re-elected to the board of directors for a second term.
