Tacoma man joins Kreidler’s most wanted list
State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler has added a Tacoma man to his most wanted list.
David Arnold Cook, 51, is wanted by two courts after authorities say he failed to appear to face multiple felony charges against him in a pair of insurance fraud cases investigated by Kreidler’s Special Investigations Unit, the agency reported Tuesday in a release.
Cook is featured on Kreidler’s insurance fraud most wanted page for his alleged failure to appear for trial June 23 in Pierce County Superior Court on charges of filing a false insurance claim, first-degree attempted theft and failure to appear at a February hearing, the office reported.
In a separate allegation, Cook did not appear at a scheduled court appearance on June 30, and King County Superior Court has likewise issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
“This is a case of a repeat offender who treats insurance policies like an ATM,” Kreidler stated. “Fake insurance claims cost real people real money. These are not victimless crimes.”
