A new community near Joint Base Lewis-McChord has a model home ready for viewing, with more on the way.

Acorn Park’s first model, 14212 19th Ave. Ct. S., opened in October. The neighborhood will eventually total 17 homes.

The development is near Perimeter Road/Military Road South and 20th Avenue Court South in the Spanaway area. JBLM’s Holiday Park FamCamp is located to the south of the development.

Spanaway Lake, Spanaway Park and Lake Spanaway Golf Course are nearby, and the neighborhood is in the Bethel School District.

The development was announced in March by Vancouver, Washington-based Pacific Lifestyle Homes. The builder has a Tacoma office serving the Puget Sound region as well as an office serving the Portland area in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

“We are excited to open Acorn Park,” said Matt Lewis, Puget Sound Division President of Pacific Lifestyle Homes in October’s announcement of the official opening.

The homes will be on large estate-sized, 12,500- to 15,000-square-foot home sites. According to Acorn Park’s website, at least one home model is priced just under $700,000, the rest range from $765,900 to $876,900.

Floor plans range from 1,982 to 2,909 square feet, with two to five bedrooms and two to three bathrooms, and three- to five-car garages, single or two-story.

The houses include a “Smart Home Technology Package,” which features programmable lights, climate and locks that work with the two Amazon Echo devices that are part of each home. Each home plan includes wiring for electric vehicles.

Lewis told The News Tribune in March, “We can do all of our Rambler plans, which are very popular for the downsizer, the empty-nester. Obviously the proximity to JBLM would lend itself to both active duty but also retired military.”
