Human remains found in Tacoma lot

Construction workers on Thursday stumbled across human remains in a Tacoma lot.

They notified police about 12:30 p.m. and detectives went out to the empty lot in the 1700 block of South Visscher Street.

“We are doing a death investigation,” police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

It’s unknown how the person died, how long they’ve been there or whether the person was male or female.

Forensic investigators will determine those things in the coming weeks.
