Tacoma police negotiators talked a man down from the top of the eastbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge on Tuesday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The bridge was closed for an hour and 15 minutes as the man sat atop one of the bridge’s two towers.

The State Patrol closed the highway about 6:30 p.m., after the man had climbed one of the bridge’s guy wires to the top of the tower.

Troopers transported the man to an area hospital for evaluation, State Patrol spokeswoman Brooke Bova said.
