Hope 253 has outgrown Cheney Stadium.
The third iteration of the free Christian-themed event moves to the Tacoma Dome on Sunday.
The event’s performance lineup includes Newsboys, Andy Mineo, Crowder and performance painter David Garibaldi.
The all-ages event is a partnership of more than 120 South Puget Sound organizations and corporations.
The event offers “A positive message for those living within the (253) area code and surrounding community,” organizers said. “The sole aim of Hope 253 is to be a purveyor of hope for a stronger, more connected, thriving (253).”
Attendees at the two previous Hope 253 events at Cheney exceeded 10,000.
The event’s stage lineup includes a variety of top-name Christian acts:
▪ Rock/alternative band Newsboys.
▪ Folktronica artist Crowder.
▪ Hip hop artist Andy Mineo.
▪ Roots duo Pawnshop Kings.
▪ Performance painter and “America’s Got Talent” finalist David Garibaldi.
Dean Curry, pastor of Tacoma’s Life Center Church, will speak.
“Hope is what gets you up in the morning. Hope is what gets you to apply for that job. Hope is like an engine in a community,” Curry told The News Tribune in 2015.
