Missing teen possibly in Tacoma area, deputies say

Original story: A missing 18-year-old Spokane County woman may be headed to Pierce County, deputies there say.

Juliette Whitehead left Mead High School north of Spokane about 2:40 p.m. Monday and didn’t arrive at her caregiver’s home, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. She is developmentally delayed and functions at about a 10-year-old’s level.

She has expressed interest in coming to Tacoma and Gig Harbor, deputies say.

Whitehead is about 5-foot-9, with a thin build and bleached brown hair worn close to her head. She was last seen in a brown leather coat and may have a green backpack with her.
