Woman killed crossing Sixth Avenue, police say
A woman was struck and killed Friday night while crossing Sixth Avenue in Tacoma, according to police.
The 69-year-old was struck about 7 p.m. on Sixth Avenue near Pearl Street while crossing the road, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead about 7:30 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle is not believed to be intoxicated, Cool said.
The investigation is ongoing.
