Body found on railroad tracks in Sumner
A 38-year-old man was found dead on train tracks in Sumner Thursday morning.
Police were notified about 8 a.m. about a body discovered on the side of BNSF tracks near Zehnder Street.
“Initial appearances look like he has been struck by a train,” Sumner spokeswoman Carmen Palmer said.
Southbound trains were temporarily stopped for the investigation.
Sound Transit said south line train #1516 leaving from Tacoma was being held between Sumner and Auburn.
