Former Tacoma resident Tony Miles wore a Russell Wilson Seahawks jersery on the first day of the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas Thursday night.
Maybe it brought him some luck. Miles survived the nine-person game to make it to Friday’s game of six in fourth place.
He’s now guaranteed to take home at least $1.8 million. Miles, an alumnus of Tacoma’s Stadium High School, is in fourth place going into Friday night’s game.
The winner takes home a $8.8 million paycheck.

“You’re gonna see (the jersey of) an athlete that I respect on and off the field,” Miles told Poker News before he appeared in the quarterback’s jersey.
“He’s a Christian,” Miles later said about Wilson. “Also, he’s always scrambling and fighting for his life. That’s me, dude.”
Miles now lives in Jacksonville, Florida.
Day two of the world championship final airs at 6 p.m. Friday on ESPN.
