Books, movies and now more Tacoma museums.

The Pierce County Library System announced Thursday (July 26) that its library card holders can now get free access to Lakewold Gardens and several other Tacoma-area museums by checking out passes at Pierce County library locations.

The gardens pass is good for up to two adults and three students ages 13-18. Children 12 and under normally get in free. Passes are available year-round at library locations.

The passes come as the result of a partnership between Pierce County Library System, Puyallup Public Library, Tacoma Public Library, Joint Base Lewis-McChord Library and the museums. The passes are available at the library locations on a first come, first served basis.

Other participating museums are:

  • Foss Waterway Seaport Museum — Good for up to two adults and four children under 18. Children under 5 are free.
  • Harbor History Museum — Admits as many as four people free of charge. Children under 5 are free.
  • Museum of Glass — Admits up to two adults and unlimited family members free of cost.
  • Tacoma Art Museum — Good for up to two adults and four children under 18. Children 5 and younger are free.
  • Washington State History Museum — Admits up to two adults and four children under 18.
