Burlington to open at Tacoma Mall this fall. Job applications now available
Burlington will open this fall in the former Toys R Us store at the Tacoma Mall, the discount clothing retailer announced Monday.
Job applications for the new location at 4214 Tacoma Mall Blvd. are currently available at burlingtonstores.jobs.
The store will open with COVID-19 safety precautions, including:
Signage to remind customers and associates to practice social distancing and remain at least six feet apart.
One-way entrances and exits at the front of the store and in the department aisles.
Wider check-out lanes, with social distancing markers on the floor.
Frequent cleaning of high-touch areas, with sanitation materials throughout the store.
The Tacoma Toys R Us closed in spring 2018 after the retail chain went bankrupt.
Burlington filed permitting paperwork last September with the city of Tacoma calling for demolition of the store interior to transform it into its own store, The News Tribune reported in October.
The specific fall opening date will be announced later this year.
