Here is a list of Tacoma homeless camps targeted for removal since this past fall
The city of Tacoma’s announcement Friday that it intends to remove the homeless encampment under Interstate 705 adds to a list of recent camp clean-ups in the city.
These homeless camp removals have been initiated with the Tacoma city limits in recent months:
▪ September: South 8th and Yakima, roughly 20 tents and 17 people.
▪ October: Sixth Avenue at South M Street and South L Street, roughly 35 tents and 20 people.
▪ December: Sound Transit property at East 25th Street and Portland Avenue, roughly 20 tents.
▪ Jan. 12: Five-day notices posted at South 2nd Street and G Street near Wright Park, six people.
▪ Jan. 26: One-week notices posted at East 72nd and East I streets in southeast Tacoma, 20-23 people.
▪ Jan. 28: One-week notices posted under Interstate 705 downtown, 60-80 people.
