Actors Elliott Gould, Denise Crosby to help Olympia Film Society

Screen legend Elliott Gould will appear at several fundraising events this weekend for the Olympia Film Society, including a screening of the 1970 Robert Altman film “M.A.S.H.,” in which Gould played Trapper John McIntyre.

The events are fundraisers for the society’s digital cinema campaign. Like theaters large and small across the United States, OFS is being forced by changing industry standards to convert its film projection systems to digital. They are halfway to a $65,000 goal.

Gould will appear at the events with actress Denise Crosby, his co-star on the Showtime drama “Ray Donovan.” Crosby also played Tasha Yar in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and is the granddaughter of Tacoma-born singing legend Bing Crosby.

The schedule of celebrity events is:

7-10 p.m. Friday: “Oceans Eleven” will be the theme at a fundraising dinner at Goldbergs’ Delicatessen in Bellevue. A silent and live auction, emceed by Seattle radio personalities Marty Riemer and Jodi Brothers, will also take place. Tickets are $75.

4-6 p.m. Saturday: The Governor’s Mansion in Olympia will be the site of a reception and silent auction with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Gould will emcee a live auction that will include signed movie posters and travel packages. All ticket sales to this event end at 9 p.m. Friday. On-site security screenings will be required at the entrance for tickets purchased after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are $100.

7 p.m. Saturday: Gould will present the screening of “M.A.S.H.” at the Capitol Theater. A Q-and-A with the actor will precede the event. Tickets are $15, $12 for OFS members. Doors open at 6 p.m.

8 p.m. Sunday: Crosby will present the 1989 film “Pet Sematary” at the Capitol Theater with a Q-and-A. A 7 p.m. meet-and-greet will precede the screening. Tickets are $8.50 ($5.50 members) for the movie. The meet-and-greet is $20 and includes the movie.
