A pickup truck crashed into the bedroom of a Lacey mobile home late Friday, narrowly missing four sleeping people.
The pickup crash happened about 11:20 p.m. at 45th Avenue Southeast and Ruddell Road Southeast when the driver had suffered a seizure, police Sgt. Mike Aalbers said. The man’s truck veered off the road and crashed into the mobile home in the Crestwood Park community.
The pickup plowed into a bedroom where four people — including three children younger than 5 — were asleep with their heads near the point of impact, according to resident Tony Tran. The children and Tran’s grandmother were knocked across the bedroom.
Tran said the truck was still moving and emitting smoke while the front end was lodged in the bedroom.

His grandmother, a recent immigrant from Vietnam, was in shock, he said.
“We’re blessed no one was significantly injured,” said Tran, who had been preparing to leave when the crash occurred.
He said a similar incident took place at a home just across the street nearly two years ago and killed a teenage resident.
The only injury reported was to the driver, who was treated and released. Because of the medical incident, no charges were filed, police said.
