Clover Park School District lands $1.8 million grant

The Clover Park School District will receive a three-year, $1.8 million grant through the Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA) program to improve student achievement and build a positive school culture at four of its schools: Lakewood Career Academy, Lakes High School, and Woodbrook and Mann middle schools.

The funds will focus on math and science achievement, using technology and engineering methods. The money will pay for teacher training in those fields. The grant is also aimed at boosting each student’s sense of community and personal responsibility.

Funding begins June 15 and runs through August 2017.
