Coroner releases name of man killed in Tenino fireworks blast

Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock has identified the man killed in an explosion and fire at a fireworks plant near Tenino on Wednesday as William Hill, 75, of Olympia.

Hill died at the scene before crews could transport him onto an airlift to a regional trauma center, according to Lt. Greg Elwin with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the state Department of Labor and Industries are investigating the cause of the blast at Entertainment Fireworks.

Two other men were also injured in the explosion, and their names have not been released. One of the men, a 25-year-old, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, and was treated and released, according to spokeswoman Susan Gregg.
