Tacoma firefighters rescue woman on Point Defiance cliff

Tacoma firefighters on Monday rescued a woman who was stuck about 30 feet down a cliff in Point Defiance Park.

Crews responded about 1:30 p.m. to Five Mile Drive near the Gig Harbor viewpoint. Firefighters used ropes to lower the woman down the steep slope to the shore shortly after 2 p.m., and a private vessel took her to the nearby Tacoma fire boat.

The woman, who reportedly climbed up but couldn’t get down, was not hurt.
