The Fife School Board gathered in executive session Monday night to begin the process of searching for someone to replace John McCrossin in the school district’s top leadership position.
McCrossin, 58, died last month after just over a year in the superintendent’s job.
Board President Bob Scheidt said Monday that the board planned to first review the qualifications of potential candidates who already work for the 3,500-student school district. He said the board did not plan to take action Monday.
He said the board will decide later whether it will extend the search for a new superintendent outside the district.
