Veterinarians euthanized a 24-year-old grizzly bear Tuesday at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville.
The 750-pound bear suffered from a large tumor and fluid in his abdomen, and became lethargic last week and continued getting worse, the park said. Staff decided recovery was unlikely.
He joined the park with his sister in 1993, when the bear exhibits opened, and was called Hudson by staff. His sister, as well as a 6-year-old brother-sister black bear duo, are the remaining bears at the park.
