A small house in downtown Tacoma burned Saturday evening after a fire started on the first floor.
Tacoma Fire crews responded to the small wood frame house on the 900 block of South I Street at 7:44 p.m.
The fire appeared to have started on the first floor and spread to the basement and attic, Tacoma Fire Battalion Chief Lincoln Correasaid.
No one was home and no one was injured. The cause of the fire was unknown Saturday night. Crews were still on the scene two hours later looking for hot spots.

Correa didn’t have an estimate of how much damage the fire caused, but said most of the damage appeared to be kept inside the home.
