Man fatally struck by pickup truck near Midland is identified by state troopers

A 31-year-old Tacoma man struck and killed last month by a pickup near Midland was identified Monday by the Washington State Patrol.

Ryan S. Robinson was fatally struck April 22 by a black Ford F-150 traveling north on state Route 7 near 100th Street South, according to WSP. Troopers said the man was standing in a northbound lane when he was hit. The cause of the crash was determined to be jaywalking.

The collision occurred at about 11:05 p.m. The pickup that hit Robinson was driven by a 42-year-old Lakewood man. He was not injured.

Troopers said the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and no charges were expected.
