Armed Forces Day is Saturday at JBLM, and the public is invited. Here’s what to know
Joint Base Lewis-McChord will celebrate Armed Forces Day on Saturday, and the event is free and open to the public.
The celebration runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Heritage Hill at McChord Field.
Static military aircraft and vehicles will be on display, and there will be “living history” encampments representing military life from other eras, according to a news release.
“Look for stage entertainment, roving entertainers, pump track (bring your bicycle and helmet), military dog demonstrations, laser tag, games, food and craft vendors and more,” the news release states.
People without Department of Defense identification cards must use the McChord Field Main Gate to enter the base. They will be directed to a parking area where free buses will shuttle them to the the event and back.
“JBLM asks people not attend if they have COVID symptoms or if they have been a close contact with someone with COVID within five days of the event,” according to the news release.
