A mild earthquake struck in the Cascade foothills Sunday evening. No damage was immediately reported.
According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the magnitude-2.8 quake was recorded at a depth of 5.5 miles at 6:36 p.m. It was centered about 16 miles east of Eatonville, near the western edge of Mount Rainier National Park.
Magnitude-2.8 quakes can cause minor damage and often are not noticeable.
