The Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce will run an express shuttle service from downtown Gig Harbor to the U.S. Open golf championship at Chambers Bay later this month.
The cost for a round-trip ticket is $30 per person per day. There are 144 seats available each day of the June 15-21 event. Reservations are required and can be made at gigharborshuttle.com.
Morning departures from Gig Harbor will be between 6-9:30 a.m. Return trips from Sunset Primary School near the golf course in University Place will run from 4-7:30 p.m.
People who wish to ride to the tournament for free can use two United States Golf Association parking lots. Shuttles between Chambers Bay and parking areas at Fort Steilacoom Park in Steilacoom and the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup will run continuously starting at 5:30 a.m. and ending 30 minutes after the end of play each day.
