One man died and another was injured when the Toyota pickup they were in rolled Saturday night at an off-road vehicle park southeast of Carbonado, near Mount Rainier National Park.
The man who died was 35-year-old Edward Bister of Auburn, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said Sunday.
Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said Bister and two other men were off-roading in the truck when it wrecked about 8:30 p.m. at the Evans Creek Off-road Vehicle Park.
Bister was ejected, the truck rolled over him, and he died at the scene, Troyer said. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Bystanders started CPR before he died, East Pierce Fire & Rescue said.
A passenger in his 20s was also thrown from the vehicle, and was taken to an area hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, East Pierce said.
The third man in the truck, also in his 20s, was not injured.
