The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of a woman killed in a house fire in the Midland/Summit area.

Jennifer Graham, 54, died June 11 after being found in her burning home at 3901 88th St. E. The medical examiner has yet to release her cause of death, according to a news release issued this week.

Felicity Graham, the victim’s daughter, was told by paramedics her mother went into cardiac arrest, according to a gofundme page set up to pay for Jennifer Graham’s funeral.

Central Pierce County Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the fire about 9 p.m. and arrived six minutes after the initial call, Chief Dustin Morrow told The News Tribune.

Firefighters were told by a neighbor that someone was in the house. Firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the small house, Morrow said.

The fire was put out about 10 p.m., and Jennifer Graham and her dog were found in the house. Firefighters carried her outside, and a medic unit took her to the nearest hospital, Morrow said.

Firefighters had difficulties searching the house because of the clutter inside. The fire department was at the scene for approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes, Morrow said.

The cause of the fire is not clear. The News Tribune has made a record request for a copy of the cause from the Pierce County Fire Prevention Bureau.
