A Marine Beach Advisory issued at Tacoma’s Titlow Beach last month has been lifted.

The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department initially issued the advisory July 21 after finding potentially harmful levels of bacteria in water samples collected at the beach. The health department posted signage and advised members of the public not to swim at the beach.

Water samples from a subsequent test on Aug. 14 indicate that the water no longer poses a public health concern, prompting an end to the advisory to stay out of the water.

More information about Marine Beach Advisories and safe open-water swimming can be found on the health department’s website.
