Expect delays this weekend on Route 512 in the Parkland area, potentially causing backups on the main east-west highway linking Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Puyallup-Sumner.

The right lanes will be closed in either direction for approximately half a mile as Washington State Department of Transportation crews complete core drilling work.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., the right lane of eastbound Route 512 will be out between Golden Given Rd. East and Portland Avenue East.

On Sunday, Oct. 1, crews will switch to westbound, closing the right lane from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. in that half-mile stretch.

WSDOT cautioned drivers to anticipate “significant congestion” as they approach the area during these timeframes.
