6 people shot at South Hill house party, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says

Six people were shot overnight Sunday, including a 17-year-old male teen who received life-threatening injuries, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

About 1:40 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to a reported shooting at a residence in the 11500 block of 152nd Street East in South Hill.

The residence had been rented to host a party, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Once deputies arrived, they found only one gunshot victim. However, they soon began to receive calls that the five other victims were showing up at area hospitals.

In addition to the 17-year-old male, a woman, 19, and four men in their 20s also were shot. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The department thinks there may have been multiple shooters. No suspects are in custody.
