A Lakewood woman who triggered a 3-car crash on southbound I-5 last week has died, the Washington State Patrol announced late Saturday.

About 8 p.m. Dec. 5, Alexsandra A. Stepovyk, 51, was headed south through Federal Way when troopers say she suffered a medical emergency and crashed into a freeway barrier.

The wreck ultimately involved two other drivers.

A 53-year-old Tacoma woman was injured and taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, while a 24-year-old East Wenatchee woman was injured, but treated at the scene, according to State Patrol.

Following the crash, traffic was slowed in the area for four hours, troopers say.
