Two Puyallup men who were found dead earlier this month in a hospice bed from a homicide-suicide have been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

William Stack, 78, died from a gunshot wound to the head near the 9900 block of 135th Street East on April 2. His manner of death was listed as a homicide. Xidong Stack, 49, died from a gunshot wound to the chest. His manner of death was listed as a suicide, the medical examiner said in a news release.

The men were thought to be married, and William Stack reportedly suffered from extensive health issues prior to his death, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

The men were discovered inside their unit at the Alderra Apartments after Pierce County deputies responded to a welfare check. They reportedly had not been seen in three weeks.
