Driver jailed after motorcycle accident on SR8 near McCleary
Two people from Lake Tapps were injured and the driver was jailed Saturday after a motorcycle crash on state Route 8 east of McCleary.
The motorcycle was headed east between mileposts 8 and 9 about 5:30 p.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a sweeping curve, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release. The motorcycle left the road to the right and went down an embankment.
The driver, a 43-year-old man, and his passenger, a 43-year-old woman, were transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. The driver later was booked into the Grays Harbor Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault. Drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, the news release said.
