Multiple apartment units damaged from fire in Lakewood. Firefighters on the scene

A fire in Lakewood has affected multiple apartment units Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were at scene in the 5400 block of 110th Street Southwest at 5:30 a.m. There was heavy fire across the entire roof line of the building, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue. No injuries have been reported.

There are 15 apartment units with heavy damage. The Red Cross is assisting 23 adults, seven children and five animals, the department wrote on X at 7:23 a.m.
