A Tacoma woman was killed after her vehicle crashed on Sunday.

The woman’s 2013 Dodge Avenger was traveling on southbound state Route 509 just south of Milwaukee Way when it went out of control at 3:16 a.m. The Dodge struck the barrier on both sides of the roadway, rolled and came to a rest, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

The driver, 27-year-old Jewel J.L. Gagner, died at St Joseph Medical Center. She reportedly was not wearing a seat belt and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved, the release said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
