Two-alarm grass fire burns several buildings near Pierce County middle school, firefighters say

A two-alarm grass fire burned several buildings across from Cougar Middle School in Graham on Monday afternoon.

When crews from Graham Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene just before 3 p.m., they found several outbuildings and two detached garages on fire, according to deputy chief Brent VanKeulen.

As of 5:15 p.m., the 5-6 acre fire was fully contained, he said.

No residents or firefighters were hurt in the blaze in the 5100 block of 260th Street East, VanKeulen said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
