Early evening vehicle collision claims life of Spanaway woman; other driver uninjured

A Friday evening collision near Elk Plain has left a Spanaway woman dead.

According to the Washington State Patrol’s incident report, Gloria Hall, 81, of Spanaway, was driving southbound on state Route 7 at 208th Street East in the center turn lane.

Hall turned left in front of a second car headed northbound, striking the vehicle, according to the report.

Hall’s car came to rest on the northbound shoulder, while the second car came to rest blocking the center turn lane.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and the second driver, a 28-year-old Spanaway man, was uninjured.

Hall was reported deceased at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital.

The roadway was blocked for nearly two and a half hours, and the cause is under investigation.
