Suspected norovirus outbreak shut Tacoma buffet. Here’s its status as of Monday morning
Tacoma’s Harvest Buffet restaurant has reopened after receiving an all-clear from the health department after a suspected norovirus outbreak reported last week.
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department on Monday said that Harvest Buffet, 3121 S. 38th St., reopened Saturday (Oct. 12), after the site was cleaned and sanitized.
The site was closed Thursday and Friday.
The restaurant passed a pre-opening inspection, according to the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
Multiple people in a group, but from different households, ate at Harvest Buffet on Oct. 6. They later reported norovirus-like symptoms, the health department reported. The restaurant was their only common source of food, according to the department.
The department said it is still “working hard to find anyone impacted by this outbreak.”
If you ate at the restaurant and got sick, contact the health department at food@tpchd.org, report your illness online, or call 253-649-1696.
