Rain is possible or likely in the Tacoma area this weekend and early next week before drier weather and slightly cooler temperatures arrive around the Thanksgiving holiday, according to the National Weather Service.

An 80% chance of precipitation is forecast Saturday night and Sunday and rain is likely Monday, the NWS said. More rain is possible through Wednesday and then it’s anticipated to get drier beginning Wednesday night.

It’s expected to get cooler after Saturday’s high of 49, as high temperatures hover in the mid-to-low 40s through the week, according to the NWS. The forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 43 on Thanksgiving and mostly sunny skies and a high near 42 on Friday.

“The weekend forecast appears to be rather rinse and repeat. Conditions are slated to remain active but not as impactful compared to what`s been seen recently,” the NWS said. “An upper-low continues to churn off the PNW coast through the start of the new week with active weather. Conditions will settle towards the the Thanksgiving holiday as guidance hints at the return drier weather but cooler temperatures.”
