Video: Droopy drawers didn’t help this inept criminal in smash and grab ATM theft
A would-be thief’s attempt to yank an ATM out of a Walgreens store in early December almost produced an adult film.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department posted a video Saturday to their Facebook page which shows three people ramming a flatbed truck into a Parkland Walgreens just before 5 a.m. on Dec. 9.
In the video, one of the suspect’s pants has fallen below his buttocks and his underwear is clearly visible.
He then attaches a cable to the ATM and the criminals use the truck to pull it from the store.
“The cable ended up breaking the ATM in half, but the area that held the cash was still intact and bolted to the floor,” the Sheriff’s Department said. “The suspects made a second attempt before fleeing in the truck.”
Deputies responded to the store at 12105 Pacific Ave. South at 4:41 a.m. after the building’s burglar alarm was activated.
“When they arrived, the front doors were completed destroyed and the ATM was heavily damaged,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
The Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to call their tips line if you recognize any of the three suspects. Or their underwear.
