Update: Tacoma police are investigating the deaths of two women in the city’s maritime district as possible homicides.

According to a department news release, Tacoma firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of St. Paul Avenue, near the Foss Waterway, at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday following a report of “an unresponsive male and female.” Reaching the scene, firefighters found two people, both dead, and alerted police.

Police spokesperson Shelbie Boyd said Friday that the two people were both women, not a man and a woman, as the initial report stated. Boyd added that the remains of the two women were found in a vehicle, but provided no additional detail.
